How to take care of your newborn baby

Take Care of a Newborn Baby

After those nine months of care and tenderness when you see your baby for the first time, that single moment beats all the best moments of your life. What is on this side of the road is round the clock care and expertise till it is at least young enough to go to kinder garten.

Your newborn is very delicate which makes parenting all the more difficult. Your cute little angel will turn you nuts. Therefore, be prepared in advance. Even experienced mothers at times face problems while handling her new born. The difficulty level for first timer parents is hence higher. But, if you are exposed to the right guidance, your beautiful angel will show you heaven on earth.

Here are a few tips to help you get over those new-mum and dad nerves. All the best!

Holding your baby

Newborns are very fragile and sensitive, especially their backbone. Their spinal cord isn’t fully grown. Always cradle the head of the baby while carrying and make it feel secure in your arms. Keep safe distance from accidents of improper handling. Keep it safe from infections. Wash your hands or use sanitizers before playing or cuddling with your toddler.

Never shake a sleeping baby

If you want to wake up your kid, never try shaking it. Your baby’s anatomy remains quite weak for the few initial months. Shaking it for nay cause may lead to internal bleeding in the head and fatality. Plan out a sleep schedule for your kid, especially if you are blessed with twins. Also do not toss it in the air while playing or any kind of rough handling.

Let your baby cry

It is quite natural for babies to cry. Since they cannot speak out their problems, they take the other route. But at all times make sure it is comfortable. Understand your baby. If it is crying, definitely something must be wrong.  Make sure that the clothes are not too tight or too loose. Check for strings or hairs wrapped around fingers, toes, and body areas. Make sure it is in a comfortable position. Above all, do not panic. It you feel frustrated, it is always okay to put the baby in a safe place and take a few minutes to yourself.

Get a pediatrician

Your pediatrician is the best person to approach to for any difficulty you face with your newborn. He is much more needed in the initial days post pregnancy. Don’t force the baby like force feeding or anything of that sort. Wait for some time and try again. If it still refuses, you may take advice of your Mother, friend etc, but if the problem still persists, you must approach your doctor. He will give you the perfect advice.

Feeding your baby

Make sure that your baby is adequately fed at regular intervals. Normally a baby cries when it is hungry. Therefore, try feeding it. But if it does not have anything, try to figure out what is going wrong with the kid.

Special care during travel

Take special care of your baby during journeys. Attach a baby carrier in your car seat to keep it safe and secure. Also make sure that it receives no bumpy experience as it might cause internal bleeding and lead to fatality.
